ABOUT
There is a moment, just before you slide into your second glove and reach to push the ignition.
There is this calm chilly feeling filling your body. The world around you softens and the only thing left to do is never stop.
Who Am IHi, I’m Jane.
I love motorcycles. I love photography. And when winter comes, I trade asphalt for snow and try to do as many French Fries as possible to get to the next ski liftt. Speed, movement, mountains. That’s where my heart lives, no matter the season.
Bikes By Jane was not built because I wanted a brand. It was built because I wanted to start living. A life where craving adventure results in fierce creativity, put them together and they fuel the engine.
Motorcycles came first.
Over the years I have ridden thousands of kilometers. Commuting to Amsterdam. Escaping to the mountains. Taking my CBR600RR to the track just to feel what raw power really means. That bike has been my teacher, my therapist, and sometimes my frustration. After an accident I rebuilt her myself. Not because it was easy, but because I could not imagine giving up on something that had given me so much. That process taught me patience, problem solving, and resilience. Skills that now shape everything I do and want to do from now on.
And photography was already there
But was more of a side hustle, and then the first time I combined the two a new passion came alongside the ride. Now I am a freelance photographer by profession. I shoot weddings for fun, events that inspire me, and motorcycle content because it is my love language. Capturing emotion is what I do and motorcycles are what make my pulse rise. When I combine both, something clicks. A rider leaning into golden light. A machine standing silent at a mountain pass.
Broken fingernails scraping off sand from my expensive camera gear. Then stories are in motion.
Photography is my tool. Adventure is the mission.
— Jane Duursma
Over the past years I have had the privilege to work with brands, create content doing what I love most, and turn rides into stories that turned into a small community. A few dreams already came true. I have collaborated, traveled, tested machines, and stood in places I once only saw on screens. I am proud of that. Grateful even.
But I am not where I want to be yet.
And that excites me! Because I have to keep work hard, differentiate my work to stand out and the possibilities are endless.
My dream is to work long term with motorcycle brands who believe in storytelling, authenticity, adventure and quality. Not just polished campaigns, but real journeys. Real kilometers. Real struggles. Growth. I want to represent brands on trips that matter. Worth being told.
Inspire others not by perfection, but by passion. That is also why I started my biggest project so far, close to home.
Right now, I am rebuilding a 32 year old Honda Fireblade SC28 together with my boyfriend. A machine that has been standing still for approximately 15 years. Rust in the tank. Carburetors that need serious attention. Old 16 inch wheels that are no longer so common. It is not glamorous. It is definitely not easy. And that is exactly why we are doing it.
This restoration is becoming a full YouTube series. Ten episodes. From first inspection to the moment it touches the track again. It is not just about making mistakes and learning from them. It is the process, trying new thing you’ve never done before. Failing. Trying again. Collaborating with experts. Understanding how engineering from the past still holds magic today!
This website exists because of that project.
Bikes By Jane is not just a name. It is a platform. A growing space where motorcycles, storytelling, and hopefully brand partnerships meet. The Fireblade series is the beginning of something bigger. A statement that I am not waiting for opportunities. I am building them.
I believe brands today need more than content. They need connection. Audiences do not want perfect. They want real. They want to see the hands getting dirty. The early mornings. The cold rides. The unexpected breakdowns that turn into the best memories.
That is where I thrive.
I am not a corporation. I am not a content factory. I am a rider with a camera and a deep respect for the machines I ride. Not only that, but understanding composition, light, and narrative. But I also understand torque specs, tire choices, and what it feels like when you hit the apex just right.
When I am on a mountain pass, camera in my backpack, I do not just look for the shot. I feel the environment. Smell the thin air. The echo of the exhaust against rock walls. The way light shifts over a tank at sunset. Those details matter, they make me feel alive. That is what makes content breathe.
And when winter arrives, I crave that same feeling on skis. Speed against silence. Lines carved into fresh snow. Mountains again. Always mountains. Adventure does not belong to one season. What drives me is simple. Growth. Travel. Collaboration. Creating work that makes people feel something. If someone reads my story and thinks, she is doing what she loves and building it step by step, then I have done a good job.
I do not want people to envy my path. I want them to feel inspired by it. To see that it is possible to start with a passion, put in the work, and slowly shape a life around it.To the brands reading this: I am ready for the long rides. For the creative challenges. For representing your machines with honesty and energy. I bring visual quality, storytelling, and genuine enthusiasm. I am not chasing hype. I am building longevity. To the fellow riders and friends: come along. Watch the Fireblade come back to life. Join the mountain rides. See the behind the scenes moments that do not always make it to Instagram. This is just the beginning.
